You will need to obtain a MHTP from your GP or psychiatrist. You can use any referral done to any psychologists.

MHTPs have 10 individual and 10 group therapy sessions per year. Clients will need an initial REFERRAL LETTER from their GP requesting 6 sessions. Your GP reviews the progress letter from the psychologist and approves a further 4 sessions.

The cost for MHTP appointments is $250 for the initial and $215 for subsequent appointments. Medicare cover's a portion of the fee (rebate of $98.95) and the client pays the gap (the remainder of the fee). Sessions are not bulk billed.

Information for GPs

We require a referral letter that indicates how many sessions the client can access (e.g. 6 initially), signed and dated as well as a completed mental health treatment plan.

After 6 sessions, we will provide an update letter to the GP. The client is required to attend a GP appointment for a review in order to get another 4 sessions.

The same is required for accessing the 10 group therapy sessions, the referral must indicate whether it is applying for individual or group therapy or both.​

Referrals can be emailed directly or sent through via medical objects.

Clients are welcome to book directly without needing a referral. If you have private health insurance, your rebate will depend on your level of extras cover. The cost for private appointments is $265.00.

Please note: We don't process private health rebates on site. After your appointment you can claim the rebate directly from your health fund.

Full session fee is paid by the client.

Psychology sessions funded by an insurer when a client has a work-related claim.

Referrals can come from a GP, Psychiatrist or other health professional.

Funding for people with disabilities to access therapeutic supports

Clients can self-refer or they can be referred by a medical, allied health professional, or support coordinator.

We need the clients NDIS number, plan date, funding type and support coordinator/manager details.​
